The HMSA and PoTS Webinar

Come and join us on 23rd October at 7.00pm to learn more about Hypermobility.

We are delighted to welcome The HMSA who will deliver a presentation about Hypermobility and then take time to answer your questions. Their talk will cover:

  • Hypermobility overview
  • Types and symptoms
  • Co-morbidities
  • How hypermobility can affect daily life
  • Managing hypermobility
  • Insight from an expert patient
  • HMSA: the services and support they can offer

We will be joined by Lisa Bone (CEO of The HMSA) and two of their key and committed volunteers, Kim Clayden and Jo Southall.

Kim is hypermobile and is a Solution Focused Psychotherapist and Clinical Hypnotherapist – she also leads the professional education team at the HMSA and leads their ‘Living Well’ series for HMSA members each year. Kim is a Pain management specialist and hEDS & PoTs expert patient. Kim helps people to understand the neuroscience behind pain, the impact of stress and various pain signals. Kim works with clients to reduce their chronic pain signals and they learn how to positively self-manage their complex health conditions in a safe, natural and effective way.  

Jo Southall is an Independent Occupational Therapist & an expert patient with many years’ experience self-managing complex health conditions. Jo lives with Hypermobile EDS, Postural Tachycardia and Visual Stress. Jo is on the HMSA’s Clinical Advisory Board and leads their monthly ‘Ask the OT’ open Q&A sessions.  Jo helps people develop self-management strategies, devise flare-up plans and and specialist skill areas include living well with long-term health conditions, work place and lifestyle adjustments, accessibility, travel, adventure and innovative technologies.
