Shawn

I became terribly ill in 2018. During the following year, I had many tests including blood tests, CT scans, X-rays, 24-hour PH monitor tests, 24-hour blood pressure monitors and 2 endoscopies. I was also told that I had major anxiety due to my rapid heart rate and then I was told that I had costochondritis in 2019 too.  By 2020, after trial and error with different medications, my doctor said I had symptoms relating to PoTS.

By this time, I had to give up work due to my health as I was not able to cope – especially being a coach driver.

This year I spoke with a cardiologist over the phone, he went through all my tests and results and immediately said that I have PoTS. I am now on ivabradine which does help with the high heart rate, but I am still unable to work or even move around properly. My cardiologist is currently referring me to a specialist in Plymouth.

I never thought something like this would totally change my life and have such a massive impact on it, but I will keep trying to come to terms with this and hopefully get back to as normal as I can.
