Social Media

Rules

PoTS UK will use various platforms of social media, Facebook, Instagram and Twitter for example, to update supporters of our work. We promote positive communication from member including thoughts, ideas, questions and links that we consider may be of benefit to others. 

Many people who use our social media pages may be just as unwell as you are/were. Please be supportive of your fellow PoTS UK members and if you disagree with their opinion, please do so in a thoughtful and respectful manner. 

Remember that young children may view any social media page.

The moderators of the pages will correct/clarify or remove any posts which are unclear, or not supportive of current medical evidence. Please do not post the following:

  • Advertisements for non-evidence based or illegal products
  • Promotion of services or products, unless deemed appropriate by the administrators 
  • Fundraising for personal use 
  • Use of inappropriate language 
  • Posts that provide medical advice or attempt to diagnose
  • Argumentative or hostile posts
  • Where medical professionals and others are spoken of negatively 
  • Users who actively promote information that is not evidenced based or considered good practice (we accept that current management of PoTS has a limited evidence base and often based on the experience and opinion of medical professionals) 
  • Posts that include copyrighted materials
